Fat Ass Dragon

photo of grey dragon themed art guitar
I may be the only person who’s amused by a dragon that’s too fat to fly. I thought about those nasty little dinosaurs in Jurassic Park that had wings to cool themselves down and spit that poison in the fat guy’s eye.  This dragon spits fire.

Two piece walnut body, hand carved and painted in oil and finished in water-based varnish.

The neck inlay is a laser line of fire that’s bursting into flames at the headstock.

I used gearless tuners to go on this a-symmetrical headstock.  Those flames could never go up like that if I had to put conventional tuners on.
Another “innovation” on this guitar is the fact that the back hasn’t been sanded down for a furniture finish. This is an ultra-thin body so it doesn’t really need any contouring and with all the curb appeal up front, it didn’t really seem necessary to do much to the back. I just buzzed off the splinters and sealed it with varnish.  Very comfortable to play and handle. This is a fabulous little guitar and it really sings.
