(017-99) The second in the Zodiak series commissioned by collector John Teti. Carved and painted mahogany body with a maple and mahogany neck. The Taurus glyph is inlaid in maple on the headstock and in mother of pearl for neck postion markers on the ebony fingerboard. The Taurus constellation is inlaid in MOP stars and dots on the body. Grover imperial tuners and a single Carvin pickup.
Maybe it wasn’t the dot com bubble burst at all. Maybe it’s because I put a garland of flowers around the bull’s neck and painted him green? I understood green, purple, and yellow to be the Taurus colors. The constellation inlay on Taurus is a bit more obvious than on Aries and the neck glyphs are better executed. The headstock Taurus glyph in maple is pretty good. Maybe the Grover tuners are a bit ostentatious for a guitar that’s not even going to be played.
I told him these 2 would gain in value if they were part of the whole 12 instead of 2 loners. He didn’t fall for it.
